Corporate Commitment
Holborn Energy recognises its responsibility to support the UK’s transition to Net Zero. We are committed to reducing our operational carbon footprint year-on-year and to helping our business customers understand and manage their own energy consumption and emissions.
Energy Procurement and Supply
We will within commercial reason prioritise the procurement of electricity from low-carbon and renewable sources where commercially viable, while ensuring competitive pricing for our customers. We will increase the proportion of renewable-backed supply contracts offered to customers each year.
Operational Emissions
We will measure, monitor and report our own operational greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 and 2) annually, and we commit to reducing these over the years up to and including 2030 through measures such as improved energy efficiency in offices, switching to renewable electricity, and transitioning our vehicle fleet to low-emission alternatives.
Customer Engagement
We will provide our customers with clear, accessible information about their energy consumption, including smart metering options, carbon reporting tools, and efficiency advice, to support their own carbon reduction journeys.
Supply Chain and Partners
We will assess and engage with our key suppliers and partners on their own carbon reduction strategies, and we will favour working with organisations that demonstrate clear commitments to sustainability and Net Zero alignment.
Transparency and Reporting
We commit to publishing an annual Carbon Reduction Statement that sets out:
- Our greenhouse gas emissions and performance against reduction targets.
- Actions taken in the past year to reduce emissions.
- Planned initiatives for the coming year.
Employee Awareness and Engagement
We will raise awareness among staff of our sustainability commitments and encourage energy-saving behaviours at work and home. Training and communications will support staff in embedding carbon reduction into day-to-day operations.
Long-Term Net Zero Goal
We will develop a clear pathway to align our operations with the UK’s Net Zero Strategy: Build Back Greener target, with interim milestones to ensure continuous progress and accountability.
